Audience Member The flashy Bava style is here, but the movie itself is tedious. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member This pop art confection proves Bava's ability to work well outside of the horror genre. It's less a salacious exploitation item than a rumination on the falibility of sight and the unreliability of the narrator. Above and beyond that, it's also a fun, endearing little movie. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Entertaining, if only for how different it is from Bava's other films. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member Mario Bava's sex "comedy" is one of his worst. Still stylish and bizarre as you'd expect from Bava, but where's the blood and the madness? None. Bava's twist on "Rashomon" and "Last Year At Marienbad" done as a sex comedy just isn't funny. Rape ain't funny, whether it really happened or not. Watching the 4 versions of the same story throughout, you'd expect by the end that a fifth hidden version where a maniacal killer slashes through each character. But it doesn't happen.... Although there is a lot of kitchy music, 60's/70's weirdness, and avant-garde art that will either make you cringe or make you laugh with unintentional humor... Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member An Italian erotic comedy from 70s!! :) Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Audience Member A different kind of film for director Mario Bava, but this rollicking sex comedy is fascinating for the way it playfully eschews conventional narrative storytelling, kind of like a cheekier Italian 'Rashomon'. It also presents a surprisingly frank attitude about sexuality for its time, and there's some great over the top characters and snappy dialogue. Like much of Bava's work, a strong argument for breaking down the distinctions between art and exploitation. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Read all reviews
