Synopsis
This is an exploration of the state of Iranian film in the decades after the 1979 coup that saw the Western-leaning Shah deposed and a hard-line conservative regime take over. The effect on social norms was drastic and has had significant repercussions for the creative community. Through interviews, filmmakers, producers and other film industry personalities in Iran discuss how they have coped with rigid censorship rules while continuing to produce a vibrant cinema.
