Roger Ebert Chicago Sun-Times As tales from graves and crypts go, these go quite far enough. CodyZamboni Z Anthology movie where most of antique shop customers get supernaturally punished for trying to rip off owner Peter Cushing. Best of four stories are first and last one. These are direct to the point, old school horror. The witch second one and the comical exorcist third one are watchable, but could've been shorter. Strong cast, But best is the stunningly beautiful Lesley Anne Down, Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 11/03/24 Full Review Misty S Old school scary. Love the old movie scripts where the acting scares you right and no special effects are needed Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/10/23 Full Review Ash P It was a nice classic film even for the month of Halloween. I'll admit, the start was a little slow with the first two stories but the last two were really good, not gonna lie. They don't tell you much. You'd have to look up the titles which I had to look up myself but this is as how old school movies go and it is what it is. If I have to rank each story within this anthology flick, it would go The Elemental > The Door > The Gatecrasher > An Act of Kindness. I do recommend this is you're into anthologies in horror style. 7/10. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 10/14/23 Full Review robert p I guess back in 1973 that these tales hold terrors for alot of people but this is 2021 and laughable at best!! Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review dave s In the Amicus anthology From Beyond the Grave, Peter Cushing is the owner of an antique shop dealing in unusual items. Over the course of the film, the plight of four customers is followed after they purchase an item from the odd little business. While the production values are competent and the acting, for the most part, is passable, the movie doesn't succeed for a simple reason – for a horror film, there is nothing remotely scary in any of the four stories. Instead of creating suspense or generating a jump scare or presenting a Rod Serling-like twist, the movie only succeeds in causing the viewer to roll his or her eyes and maybe, just maybe, furrow a brow. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member The best of the Amicus anthologies, a 1970's cult horror classic. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Read all reviews
