James Reese (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) has a good job as an ambassador's aid in France, but his real passion is a side gig, working in a minor role in the CIA. He would love to be a full-fledged agent and can't believe his luck when he lands an assignment with Charlie Wax (John Travolta). Trigger-happy Charlie soon has James crying for his desk job, but when he learns that the same guys they're trying to catch are after him, James realizes that Charlie may be his only hope of survival.

The most underdeveloped character... remains Paris. Why set a movie in the City of Lights if you aren’t going to exploit it for everything it’s worth? The movie could’ve been called “From Cleveland with Love” and no one would’ve known the difference.

This is the kind of movie that is fun and entertaining to watch at least once. Pretty much once is enough. The story line is suspenseful but almost predictable throughout the movie. It does take a turn at the end but you can almost see it coming. All and all I enjoyed it.

From Paris with Love se veut être un film d’action efficace, mais au final, il manque cruellement de punch. L’intrigue peine à trouver son cap, les personnages sont peu développés, et l’histoire semble avancer sans réelle direction. J’ai eu du mal à comprendre quel était le véritable but du film, tant tout paraît superficiel. La complicité entre les deux acteurs principaux reste le seul vrai atout : leur dynamique offre quelques moments sympas à regarder, notamment la scène du souper, plutôt réussie dans son genre. Mais en dehors de ça, les scènes d’action manquent d’impact, l’humour tombe parfois à plat, et l’ensemble reste très classique, voire prévisible. C’est le genre de film à regarder si on veut juste passer le temps sans trop réfléchir.

Filme fraco, o roteiro é fraco, as cenas são fracas, a história é fraca, o elenco é fraco, e ninguém ajuda a melhorar o filme, os personagens são fracos, e o filme deveria ter cenas bem melhores e relevantes, para fazer o filme ser bom.

The film is actually better than most reviews make it to be. Yes, John Travolta is kind of over-the-top, and it has cheesy lines. However, if you want a movie that is entertaining and mindless, with one of the best dinner scenes, do watch this movie. It's a guiltless spy/action film that does it's job.
