Audience Member A woman is implicated in armed robbery and murder by her crooked boyfriend and sent to a minimum security prison. She escapes with four other inmates (including 70's porn legend Rene Bond) and they wander around encountering hippies, bikers and cops, finally going after a bunch of money one of them has stashed away. This super low budget WIP flick is notable mainly as one of a series of films written by Ed Wood and directed by Stephen C. Apostolof. Wood himself appears on screen as "Pop", an old drunk (there's a stretch). It's not a good film, but somehow it's kind of an amiable one in the way it blends serious dumbness (the "minimum security prison" appears to be a summer camp) with tons of nudity. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member A hilarious girl convicts on the run flick written by Ed Wood and directed by Steve Apostolof starring porn legend Rene Bond. Wood even plays at least two parts, one as a pervy old hermit at an old desert airport and as a police sheriff! The acting is sad. The dialogue is typical Woodsian insanity with cardboard stereotype characters, but a ton of fun. "Good Christ! A lesbian!" A great party movie after a few beers. Available in both R and X rated versions. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Such a bad movie (but hard to look away!) It has Ed Wood in a cameo (you can tell alcohol had taken over his life by this point.) the script is soooo bad it's good! Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member More watchable exploitation, something I had picked up for the Rene Bond connection, but the girls on the run element was fairly interesting. (SPOILERS) I was a little dismayed to find that all of the women were dead or punished by the time credits roll, as if they had to restore order to the world and not give the impression that they got away with anything in the end. Rental? Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member No prison bars could hold them..! Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member One of the last things that Edward Wood wrote it's apparent what a sleaze monger he had become. Pretty fun garbage though as 5 women break out of prison (headed by a hardcore dyke) who must escape the law to the cash that one of the girls has one the other side. In their escape they beat down just about everyone in their way including Wood himself. He probably loved that. The fights are poorly staged & the direction pedestrian but the dialogue is amusing (I don't think Ive ever heard of a prison fish called a swack before) & the girls have their low grade charms. Plus there's lots of 70s sugar boobie. Not nearly as enjoyable bad as other works that Wood was involved w/ but you could do much worse for the genre Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Read all reviews
