Audience Member Best movie I've ever not seen Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Charlie's Angels on the big screen is not believable by any stretch of the imagination. More of a cartoon than a serious movie and since it doesn't try to take itself seriously, that's ok. I go to the movie expecting larger than life silliness and I am not disappointed. ... or particularly fascinated for that matter. For this second outing, we waited for video and it wasn't my pick. That tells you how little I was looking forward to watching this movie. Part of what makes movies work is a willing suspension of disbelief. These movies, I can't suspend disbelief -- and believe me, I'm good at that. Noise in space doesn't bother me a bit if that gives you an idea. 1. A guy walking unburned through fire -- twice. 2. Kevlar vests that cover almost nothing -- but the bad guy still manages to hit them only in the vests ... even though there were vast expanses of skin showing. 3. On the spot forensics at the scene of the crime that the inept police couldn't possible figure out ... including not only that the bad guy wore a sneaker, but tracking it down like a vintage wine. ... I could go on but you get the idea. There were a few things about this movie that I liked: 1. Demi Moore. Good to see her back on screen -- and I thought she did a great job. Kudos. 2. Nice nod to the series that spawned it all -- putting in Jaclyn Smith and have her acknowledged as an Angel. 3. Bernie Mac as Bosley. Funny. Intense. And what a waste of John Cleese. Arrggh. Well, as a movie for the kids to watch (which is why it got rented in the first place), its fine. For adult entertainment, its adequate, even funny in places, but I still have trouble with the whole premise and for me at least, it failed to rise above the whole credibility issue.
