Richard Whittaker Austin Chronicle Due to their easy energy and Leonard's subtle, lo-fi direction and tone (shadows of the modern master of comedic discomfort, Onur Tukel), Fully Realized Humans is a lot more complete than it first seems. Rated: 3/5 Jul 30, 2021 Full Review Nick Schager Variety Weixler and Leonard dig into first-time-parent neurosis with just the right balance of clownish comedy and cathartic drama... Jul 27, 2021 Full Review John DeFore The Hollywood Reporter Humans cares sincerely about its protagonists' navel-gazing earnestness, accepting the validity of their quest despite the nuttiness of the results. Apr 24, 2020 Full Review Alex Saveliev Film Threat Fully Realized Humans tackles relatively heavy subjects with a light but deft touch. Rated: 7/10 Aug 4, 2021 Full Review Sarah Bea Milner Screen Rant Fully Realized Humans offers an honest look at an expecting couple's anxieties towards becoming parents, but its approach is simply not compelling. Rated: 1.5/5 Jul 31, 2021 Full Review Daniel Gorman In Review Online Leonard and Weixler are trying to do a few things here with their screenplay, only some of which are actually successful. Mostly, it's a comedy that's not particularly funny. Jul 29, 2021 Full Review Read all reviews

dave d There are about five minutes of 'Fully Realized Humans' which were hilarious, but the film misfires into the sometimes cruel for no particular reason. Joshua Leonard and Jess Weixler, who combined to star and write a romantic comedy, have no known romantic connection, but they have a chemistry that overflows the screen. They play two expecting parents who go on a search for truth. The concept is intriguing. When the film tries to be real, it's best. When they are doing things, in public, that just wouldn't happen anywhere it removes the viewer from the film. Weixler and Leonard explore some ideas but they can't seem to nail the comedy other than a few instances. Never have I seen a film try to so hard and amount to so little. There are long scenes that are boring and frankly don't work. Life doesn't happen like this and if it did it should be funny. What could have been an important or a clever film turns out to be neither. Final Score: 5/10 Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member It's a fresh comedy, it also shows some day to day modern couple's paradigms. Pretty entertaining, must watch it.
