Every character is perfect. Justin Long finds a dream role in his first movie and shows how fandom relates to art. The special effect hold up, especially considering the odd early-CGI era this movie is in. It spoofs and honors its source material without the jokes ever coming at the expense of a character. This decades long Trek fan thinks this is one of the best Star Trek movies ever. Each character is so well done and is a great match for another in the Trek universe. The villain is appropriately evil. The people attending the convention are spot on. And, as an Aliens fan, I love Sigourney Weaver’s line “ducts. Why is it always ducts?” Great movie to watch on a rainy day or if you just need to cheer up!
