Phuong Le Guardian In imagining a world where Gandhi and his killer learned to get along, Rajkumar Santoshi simplifies differences that remain perilous for India. Rated: 1/5 Jan 27, 2023 Full Review Shubhra Gupta The Indian Express Santoshi's attempt at revisionism is marred by trying to play it both ways, and falling between the planks. Rated: 1.5/5 Jan 27, 2023 Full Review Prathyush Parasuraman Film Companion It doesn’t help that Santoshi’s direction is stuck in the 1990s, in expressionist cinema, where he is content with showing people on screen as angry or sad or happy — he isn’t interested in making us feel these emotions. Feb 6, 2023 Full Review Carla Hay Culture Mix An ill-conceived fairy tale. Although the movie’s intentions might have been good, it’s a bizarre and revisionist fantasy that insults Gandhi and makes his assassin look like a misunderstood fanatic who could easily manipulate Gandhi. Feb 2, 2023 Full Review Saibal Chatterjee NDTV The film is a reductionist, revisionist recreation... Rated: 2.5/5 Jan 27, 2023 Full Review Nandini Ramnath Scroll.in Mandlekar’s perennially eye-rolling Godse is about as credible as a revivified Gandhi. Most of the actors who play other characters from the history books neither look the part nor appear comfortable with their stagy lines and scenes. Jan 27, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews

Mirza M 'Gandhi Godse – Ek Yudh' is a wasted potential that isn't able to milk its unique concept due to its shoddy execution. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review kshitij n A low budget film, made with relatively unknown lead actors. Mr. Deepak Antani who plays Gandhi is a Gujarat based director\actor and has been playing Gandhi in his own production's stage play. Chinmay is a marathi actor who played very convincing role of Godse came to limelight by playing the role of Bitta Karate in 'The Kashmir Files'. This movie has shown the ideological war between two person using a fictional storyline where both are given chance to ask each other question and also a chance to explain some of their actions. Both the actors are fantastic. Full justice to their casting. Some of the characters were not really needed in the movie but I believe they were added to create a storyline which helped to support some of the arguments between the two main characters. Movie may not be liked by everyone but one who is keen to understand historical actions with the help of some fictional situation and with unbiased view for either of the characters will definitely like to movie.
