Dale R From Disney’s television animation, this film is the first five episodes of the Gargoyles television series with some edits to make it into a film. This version is not bad, but I feel you are missing something as some scenes are cut to shorten the length of this film. It would be better to just watch the first five episodes of the show. For this film, the animation is well done and on par with what comes next in the series. The voice acting is also well done with the standouts being Keith David as Goliath, Jonathan Frakes as David Xanatos and Marina Sirtis and Demona. If this movie is your only choice then give it a watch, otherwise just start the first five episodes of the cartoon series and then continue on because the first two seasons are amazing. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review r 9 Pretty good. I haven't seen any of the television series, but I still enjoyed this. The animation isn't top tier but it's a style that I do like, probably because it's the type I grew up with. The premise is connected together nicely, which is noteworthy as the film is made up of scenes from some of the TV episodes. Keith David and Salli Richardson are, at least to me, the standouts from the cast, as they voice the roles of Goliath and Elisa. Jonathan Frakes, while, leads the others well as Xanatos. It's a very solid cast. Decent music and pacing, coupled with the aforementioned, means that 'Gargoyles: The Heroes Awaken' leaves positive thoughts. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member This is basically a merging of the first pilot episodes form the show with a bit of retooling on the sound, though the guys sis a good job of editing it down. This is from one of Walt Disney's better television series, with a great set of characters (though somewhat trope_ish, though it was the nineties) a great villain, and some of the best voice talents out there. Good for all ages and would recommend the television show, especially as it picks up in season 2 (ignore season 3).
