[Geminis] is an alluring story about a sister-brother(s) incestuous relationship(s) in an Argentine middle-class family. The scene which the taboo secret revealed at the end is so very much breath-taking & shocking. A sad ending. Cristina Benegas is flawless as the flaunting mother character, the last scene in particular. It's a dark and haunting story about how one family can be affected by such an affair. The film builds up marvelous tension and really gets to the core of the brother and sister. They are truly in love and it is clear in such simple ways how much they care for each other. The main body of the film is cleverly paralleled against the wedding of a third sibling. It brings the family together in a secluded area and other feuds soon arise. The final 15 minutes is expert cinema. Wonderfully shot, paced and most of all acted. Even the sound design comes into focus as a mortified scream is played out in silence allowing the actors face to capture the pain and emotion. The most disturbing part of the film is how sweet the main relationship comes off. A short and fascinating watch.
