Paranormal researcher Abby Yates (Melissa McCarthy) and physicist Erin Gilbert are trying to prove that ghosts exist in modern society. When strange apparitions appear in Manhattan, Gilbert and Yates turn to engineer Jillian Holtzmann for help. Also joining the team is Patty Tolan, a lifelong New Yorker who knows the city inside and out. Armed with proton packs and plenty of attitude, the four women prepare for an epic battle as more than 1,000 mischievous ghouls descend on Times Square.

Every Movie Has a Lesson

It brings the modern changes and updates that come with making this kind of movie in 2016 and not 1984, which equates to a high level of flashy CGI and blockbuster-level action compared to the saucy and subtle original.

Ghostbusters offered a fresh and fun spin on the classic testosterone-fueled comedy and featured Chris Hemsworth as a dim-witted himbo, delightful cameos by cast members from the original movie, and a wonderful breakout performance by Kate McKinnon.

The original Ghostbusters is the best movie out of all made before and after this version, but this one is definitely the funniest. I was literally crying with laughter. Chris Hemsworth is hilarious as the dumb receptionist but Kate McKinnon steals the show. Truth be told I avoided the movie for ages because I just thought it was going to be a money making rip off, but I laughed more in the 1st 30-40 minutes than all the others put together. Highly recommended

By far the funniest film in the franchise. Actually laughed out loud many times. Especially the hilarious joke about god being drunk. The 80s films were great for the 80s but many of the jokes and gags haven’t aged well. This updates the whole thing and presents us will a brilliant and hilarious cast that really shine in these roles. I hope they make a sequel.

Sorry about this characterless pastiche of the original masterpiece. Actors saunter around the set in pressed clothes chatting with no gusto, rolling their eyes and pausing awkwardly for each others' lines. 2-second gags get a 20 second spotlight as if the plot depended on them, and fall flat. Music has no punch. Bad and clueless.
