Martin Tsai Los Angeles Times 03/19/2015
"Ghoul" can't decide whether it should be about cannibals, serial killers, ghosts or demons. The found footage trivializes rather than reflects the horrific events that serve as the film's basis. Go to Full Review
Rob Staeger Village Voice 03/17/2015
Ghoul rewards attention for much of its running time with subtle scares and growing unease, before squandering it in a shaky chase through twisted corridors that goes nowhere unexpected. Go to Full Review

There are several levels of horror at play in Ghoul, and this layered approach to an oft-misunderstood genre comes from a director who seems keenly aware. Go to Full Review

It went into a whole lot of just trying to please the audience and I wasn't really about it... but there were some really good subplots in this movie. Go to Full Review

Michael C May 19 Awful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! See more Jan 11 Just bad- not an enjoyable watch at all and a lame ending, avoid!! See more John H 11/01/2024 Great concept, starting with totally horrifying real-life events. The movie does really well in places before reverting to a pretty run-of-the-mill horror movie. See more Emilliano Jr S @emill_santos 01/22/2024 Its like a cheap Ukrainian Blair witch project. See more 07/05/2020 If you enjoy The Blair Witch Project, As Above So Below and films like that you'll have a decent time with Ghoul. The scares dont happen for awhile but once the paranoia sets in and the crew gets stranded the film becomes a lot more fun. The ending has lots of shaky cam which ruins some of the creepy visuals and the movie takes too long for the good stuff to start happening. Definitely worth a watch if you need something new to view. As of now its included with Amazon Prime See more 09/29/2016 Nothing new in the horror's horizon. See more Read all reviews
