matthias s "Giant of Thunder Mountain" is a charming but somewhat dated family movie that offers a sweet story about not judging a book by its cover. The film centers on Eli Weaver, a gentle giant who lives alone on Thunder Mountain. The townspeople are scared of him because of his size and mysterious past, but three adventurous orphan siblings discover that he’s just a big softie. Richard Kiel, known for playing Jaws in the James Bond films, gives a heartfelt performance as Eli, and his interactions with the kids are genuinely touching. While the movie has a good message about friendship and acceptance, the story is pretty predictable and feels a bit slow at times. The characters are likable, but some are pretty one-dimensional. Overall, "Giant of Thunder Mountain" is a decent pick for a family movie night, especially if you enjoy feel-good stories with a nostalgic vibe.
