Moira MacDonald Seattle Times There's more to Ruffner's story than art, glorious as it is: "A Not So Still Life" is also an inspiring tale of rehabilitation and recovery. Rated: 3/4 Jul 21, 2011 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member An inspiring documentary about what happens when you combine artistic genius, a wild hippie chick, and an unstoppable spirit into one creative force. I wish the editing would have given the art more time rather than placing so much emphasis on Ginny's car accident because her art is nothing short of breathtaking. You know the otherworldly beauty of underwater panoramas. Ginny takes it a step farther into art from another universe! Overall, it was a well made documentary and I understand that it's about her life journey rather than just her art But I felt it dwelled a little too much on the accident itself rather than her struggle to create even greater art in spite of it.
