Audience Member Talk about a campy, very 1970's oddity. The film is pretty bad as far as believability and coherence. Those same qualities makes it somewhat fun to watch. Michael Ontkean, in one of his first films, shows that he is a star in the making. He isn't exactly the best actor we've ever seen, but he is the best actor in this film and a charismatic leading man. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member little known 4 a good reason-sucks! Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member I was wondering how low budget Girls on the Road was going to be when it started off because most of it's opening credits are on bumper stickers. I was ready for urber low budget but thankfully (for the most part) this is a technically sound little exploitation/road movie. Everything except for Michael Ontikean's flash backs that have this wavy effect that found hard to watch & made me a little nauseous. The real point of interest is having Ralph Waite from the Waltons cast as a hippie guru who tries to bed down Dianne Hull who was probably half his age. She's only supposed to 17 Im sure she was older then role she was cast for as she briefly flashes her sugar boobies. Pretty good neglected drive-in that could have taken a few more risks for a R rating Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member 'Girls on the Road' is another one of those underrated but perfect Grindhouse movies. It intelligently uses cinematic techniques to create comedy not just through performance, but through editing, directing, cinematography, sound... The performances are also surprisingly very strong for a Grindhouse film, something that makes the film that much more enjoyable. I highly recommend this film to anyone who just enjoys having a nice laugh at horror/comedies. You will not be disappointed! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Read all reviews
