Mark D Kooky and fun. I feel light the story could have been tightened up a bit. Overall it's a fun movie, just don't take it too seriously. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/04/24 Full Review Jim H High Camp at its best. Don't like camp? Then don't watch it. But if you like broad humor delivered well with the one liners flying, this is your movie. I found it hilarious. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/17/24 Full Review Paul G Three eminent drag icons play struggling Hollywood "actresses": washed-up 70's star Evie Harris (Jack Plotnick), her chronically depressed best friend Coco Peru (Clinton Leupp), and the up-and-coming Varla Simmons (Jeffery Roberson) work wonderfully against each other, blooming into outrageousness under Richard Day's good direction. With perfect timing and delivery, Evie smokes, drinks, and insults her way through the film, jealously observing the voracious Varla appear in a series of TV dinner commercials, while the much-put-upon Coco is relegated to the kitschy "Bicentennial Room," where she hits her head on a low-hanging red white and blue lamp. If you like this film, don't miss Die, Mommie, Die! an equally delectable drag romp graced by Angela Arden (Charles Busch), who gives each line an exquisitely mellifluous reading. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/29/23 Full Review Raymond S Wow! What a hilarious bitch fest! I live for the characters! The one liners are too funny! Evie or Evil is perfect! Jack Plotnick is an amazing actor! So are the Jeffrey and Clint! I have seen this movie many times and never tire of it! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review cyrus z What great fun, very very funny. The cast is great but Jack Plotnick is outstanding and I hope to see him in more and more movies and shows. Alonso Duralde The Advocate These divas are talented enough to merit this delicious star vehicle, and they make the most of the opportunity. Jul 27, 2021 Full Review Ed Gonzalez City Pages, Minneapolis/St. Paul Girls Will Be Girls is every bit as dull and offensive as it is frequently hysterical. Rated: 2.5/4 Dec 17, 2003 Full Review John Monaghan Detroit Free Press An often hilarious, always surprising 79-minute burlesque. Rated: 3/4 Nov 26, 2003 Full Review Stephen Schaefer Boston Herald Rated: 2.5/4 Feb 2, 2004 Full Review Chris Hewitt St. Paul Pioneer Press The laughs in Girls Will Be Girls are cheap laughs, but when you assemble this many of them in one place, they're worth a lot. Rated: 3/4 Dec 12, 2003 Full Review Anita Schmaltz Metro Times (Detroit, MI) ...an explosion of bad taste swallowed, and occasionally spit back out, over and over again, culminating in fashionable she/he cat fights by the pool.
