Rachel Wagner rachelsreviews.net It is a played out Coraline-lite story but the lead character was likable and it had enough sarcastic humor to be watchable Rated: 5.5/10 Jan 23, 2019 Full Review Barbara Shulgasser Common Sense Media Unoriginal animated fantasy has some scary moments. Pillow R It appears to be poorly written, although it had enjoyable moments. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 09/10/24 Full Review Nicholai R Honestly, it was a mediocre movie, though not too average. The whole trope of her and her mom constantly having to move around doesn't really add to the story at all. You could make it like "I'm visiting my uncle at his scary house!" I can praise them for not making it what I would regularly expect, I mean going to visit a relative is an old trope. The fact that they have gnomes that talk, what I mean is, we've seen so many inanimate objects become alive on the big screen. I found them annoying at first, but the gnomes weren't as annoying down the line! 6/10 Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/17/23 Full Review Alerik A Oof that was so cynical Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Becky G's song, Our House, is very great! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member I liked the movie. Very well put together. Family movie Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/29/21 Full Review Audience Member A fantastic, must-see movie for young teens and children. Very refreshing in a day and age of children's movies and programs with no redeeming moral messages, only obnoxious characters and poor quality writing and animation. While the characters in Gnome Alone might come across as annoying at first, they eventually grow on you as you see them develop throughout the course of the movie. The relationship that develops between the two main characters, Chloe and Liam, is the best part of the film. It teaches children about the importance of forgiveness, a theme that seems to be nonexistent in most films, whether they are made for adults or children. It's an important part of life that should be talked about more in our TV shows and movies so I am glad Gnome Alone touches on this. Other than that, it is a fun film to watch and I would reccommend it for all ages. There might be a few scary moments for very young viewers, but it is probably nothing they haven't seen before in other movies. Overall, Gnome Alone is a fun, whimisical film that also places importance on values lost on the current generation. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Read all reviews
