The survival of mankind hangs in the balance when Set (Gerard Butler), the merciless god of darkness, usurps Egypt's throne and plunges the prosperous empire into chaos and conflict. It kept my attention throughout. The visuals and action were great, accompanied by an engaging score. It's pure fantasy; so, there's not much to judge or get hung up on, if you don't know or care too much about mythological accuracy. Typical superhero style nonsense, but not so incongruous as to create confusion (unlike many other movies). Surprisingly, I thought it was pretty good. Definitely a watch if you are in to that sort of thing.
