Critics Consensus

Look on Gods of Egypt, ye filmgoers, and despair! Nothing beside remains. Round the decay of this colossal wreck, boundless and bare. The lone and level sands stretch far away. (Apologies to Shelley.)

Audience Member Gods of Egypt is a brilliant film, wholesome, fun, and entertaining! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/06/24 Full Review V P This movie is a fantastic family movie.Consider year it was created in an incredibly well put together adventure beyond belief.CGI was great but not the reason it was so good.Outstanding storyline, character build up,plot.Ive watched it 6 times and it’s on my yearly must watch movies.Prerequisite Sci Fi,Fantasy fans otherwise you might be taken back by all the CGI.Do Not Miss this Gem. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/02/24 Full Review Aaron C A film for the family, too much CGI, looks more like a TV series, think Xena Warrior and Hercules from the 90s. Great film for kids Rated 2 out of 5 stars 10/01/24 Full Review Shane O I’m not really sure what they were trying to do here. The CGI is off putting. And Brenton Thwaites was unlikeable. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 09/19/24 Full Review Yikes S I recommend Gods of Egypt. It doesn't deserve it's low ratings as it is a fantasy film. Fantasy it is because it asks the viewer to suspend belief and pre-conceptions and it certainly does that. The casting is good, the special effects are believable, and the storyline is good. It is an enjoyable film that is what it is and is better than many films of this genre. It deserved to do much better at the box office. I enjoyed it a lot. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 08/27/24 Full Review Paul H Crazy’s dream , nightmare with a soppy love story mixed in , acting not bad but the story was just rubbish.
