Lanfranco C This movie describes well "The Sorrows of Young... Goethe" Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/13/24 Full Review Rezensionen H The movie "Goethe!" certainly profits from good acting but really does not depend on it, it‘s just a nice thing to have. At some points throughout its plot it strongly conflicts with the historical acuracy of this story, but those changes can largely be explained by it being a movie and as such made to sell and not as something you would have needed to read Goethe‘s biography beforehand. And also these changes help to keep the film modern and spice up the plot, which probably was an intention with the romance scene. All in all it is enjoyable and it doesn't hurt to watch it as long as you don‘t take all the contents of the film for given historical facts. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 05/07/23 Full Review Audience Member Um bom filme para entender a obra do grande Goethe! Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member The movie Goethe is a wonderful movie that had great plot and amazing charters. One of the scenes made me feel a little bit uncomfortable because when i had turned my head back to the movie two of the characters were doing it in the dirty while it rained . I honestly thought it was messed up how that girl was playing around with Goethe and then got engaged to the one rich guy which made him pretty depressed and then he died and the book he was writing was published after he died and it was given to his father all around it was a good movie Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Personally this wasn't my kind of movie. However I know there are many people out there that LOVE movies full of drama, romance and conflict. Now with those three things put together I believe that this could end up being one's favorite movie, but sad to say I am not one to love those types of movies. Stanley Kauffmann The New Republic Stylistically, the most engaging aspect of the picture is Stlzl's direction. Jun 19, 2013 Full Review Calvin Wilson St. Louis Post-Dispatch An old-fashioned romance that's easy to like even if you have no interest in German literature, illegal duels or the more romantic aspects of committing suicide. Rated: 3/4 Feb 17, 2012 Full Review Moira MacDonald Seattle Times Pain plus time, this film reminds us, can result in poetry. Rated: 3/4 Jan 19, 2012 Full Review Jack Fleischer Battleship Pretension If you read all the assigned books in your high school literature class, there's plenty of inside baseball here for you to appreciate. On top of that if you like your love stories period, bittersweet, and star-crossed this is a great movie. Mar 24, 2021 Full Review Kelly Jane Torrance Washington Examiner Young Goethe seems to take even more liberties with the facts than most pictures in the genre. But, also like many films of the type, its charm and energy are hard to resist. Rated: 2.5/4 Jan 4, 2019 Full Review Witney Seibold CraveOnline It's just as gorgeously shot, just as clever, just as frothy and dynamic as the period pieces of 15-20 years ago.
