Rob Humanick Projection Booth "Just as brilliant, beautiful, and entertaining as Romero's first zombie masterpiece." Rated: 4/4 Sep 30, 2014 Full Review John Beifuss Commercial Appeal (Memphis, TN) An astonishment from start to finish, from its vivid opening shot of a passenger plane in an obviously artificial sky that resembles a 'sea of blood' to the complementary final image of an invading armada of flying saucers. Rated: 3.5/4 Jan 4, 2013 Full Review Christopher Long Movie Metropolis Iron-clad-nutso proof that a film can be simultaneously ridiculous and smart, and should not be confused for disposable camp. Audience Member Ok so you know what you are getting yourself into when you watch an old dubbed film like this but WOW - UM I would just skip to the end and watch the special effects there and not in the rest of the movie. I mean - the "monster" looked like shiny prell shampoo oozing out of the guys face. Scary? Um I have been more scared at a McDonald's Drive Thru... OOF! For a scary title you sure get a lot of nothing. SKIP IT and save your time for better things like washing your gerbil. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review dave s No matter how you cut it, Goku, Body Snatcher from Hell is a monumentally bad movie. Sure, it has profound things to say about corrupt politicians (they're bad), war (it's bad), and capitalism (it's bad too, but maybe not as bad as war), but what really stands out are the weird vulva-faced vampires, the hysterically funny dialogue ("It ripped his face open like a pomegranate!!"), the string of nonsensical incidents (why do rocks keep falling off of that cliff??), some horrible acting, cheap special effects, and an absolutely incomprehensible plot. And sadly, as promised in the title, we never do get to see any body snatchers from hell. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member others compare this to "invasion of the body snatchers" but i thought it more like "the blob" Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Not good due to too much padding that goes nowhere. Would have been much better if it was only 30 to 70 min. long. The psychedelic sequences are a nice touch and the atmosphere projected alongside an entertaining story is derailed by bad acting and worse plot holes. The other odd sequences of the stark realities of war (graphic real photos of gore and death saturated completely in red) is a mixed bag...oddly captivating yet obviously hammering home the overall theme to the story line. Plays well in the background while you're busy doing something else. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Vampires, body snatchers, aliens, and other menaces--Pulp Excellence!! Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member And they call him "vagina face" lol. Best of the Shochiku films (on Criterion.) A turtle-necked terrorist becomes possessed by an alien blob that turns him into a vampire. So funny. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Read all reviews
