V.A. Musetto New York Post Working from a 1982 novel set in Quebec City, director-writer Jacob Tierney provides enough thrills and surprises, even a little satire, to keep viewers' attention. Rated: 3/4 Jul 29, 2011 Full Review Jeannette Catsoulis New York Times Swerving from bland to brutal, endearingly coy to shockingly explicit, the Canadian import "Good Neighbors" finds pitch-black comedy among white-bread lives. Rated: 3.5/5 Jul 28, 2011 Full Review Alonso Duralde TheWrap There's enough creepy tension and nefarious deeds afoot to make for a really suspenseful short film, but even at just 96 minutes, Good Neighbors outstays its welcome. Jul 28, 2011 Full Review Shelagh Rowan-Legg That Shelf This film has one of the best murder scenes in recent film memory. It's brutal and hilarious at the same time - and a must-see for cat lovers. May 14, 2018 Full Review Brian D. Johnson Maclean's Magazine The film is superbly crafted, with veteran cinematographer Guy Dufaux composing a coherent palette of dark, rich interiors. Jul 13, 2015 Full Review Will Leitch Deadspin Not a crackerjack thriller by any means, and I'm not sure it means to be: It's a dark comedy about people who do horrible things. Ray M I saw everything coming. No surprises. Kind of a letdown. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 04/07/23 Full Review James Ward K Sweet little serial killer movie. Well acted and we'll plotted. I also appreciated the comedic undertone. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member Okay with good build throughout but I felt the ending left alot unanswered and was not good. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Jo Dee M The film has an interesting premise. It builds up slowly. it is more about the relationship between the characters than a thriller Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 12/21/23 Full Review joe m "Good Neighbours" is a Canadian production set in Montreal about the various residents in an old apartment building and a plot around their lives. The film has a Son of Sam vibe since their is a serial killer on the loose. Very suspenseful with all the three leads giving us well developed characters while keeping you on the edge of your seat until the rather twisty ending. The movie could have been four stars but there are some plot holes that bring the rating down. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review h a In a "watch a movie on Saturday morning" sort of way its good. Its definitely slow but concise. Ok plot, good acting, good photography. I didnt watch the first 20 minutes or the last 10 minutes so I probably don't know what I'm talking about but the 45 minutes that I did watch was enthralling.
