What to Know

Critics Consensus

A family affair both on screen and behind the camera, Kate Winslet's directorial debut stacks the deck for tears a little too lopsidedly, but honest performances help put this drama's heart firmly in the right place.

"Goodbye June” is far from a catastrophe, but it’s perhaps a greater sin that the film would be far more interesting if it were. Go to Full Review

It’s a story open to the syrupy and the sentimental, and it can’t quite escape the formulaic, despite an overqualified supporting cast...giving their all to the reconciliation dynamic underpinning the plot. Go to Full Review

David Dec 23 Great acting, Helen Mirren at her best. Kate winslet also. Great story line and brought tears to my eyes. See more peter g Dec 14 It’s a tear jerk for sure but I sobbed and laughed from beginning to end! Great story, great cast (Helen, Kate and Toni) and perfect flow and timing! I put it in my holiday movie category faves including Home For The Holidays and The Family Stone. I am excited to see what else Kate and her son have to collaborate on together. See more L @Loveamoan 18h I cried and laughed (mostly cried) all the way through this movie! It’s a proper tearjerker with a lot of relatable situations. As a nurse I felt this portrayed perfectly the caring side that goes on behind the door when you are one to one with the patient. Beautifully made along with a fantastic cast.
