Audience Member fantastic cinematography and art Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Still very much a Saura style of film, of a play within a movie in which changes of set, lighting, etc, show perspective on the Goya's life. For some reason I was expecting something else from the film, then again it would be a much longer movie if Saura went into the exile, history between countries, etc, in greater detail. Definitely a movie to watch for the sake of Art, and to understand Goya's late life in exlie and his dark period a bit more. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member I think if you've watched Tarkovsky's Andrei Rubylev, you will know why this pales in comparison. Not bad though Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member The set design is notable amongst many other fantastic things. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member The use of incorporating actual paintings of Goya into the film help tell a rich story of a artist who lead a very interesting life of love and also displaying his biggest virtue which lead him into a lot of trouble in his work and life, the truth. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member This is a beautiful movie. Many of the scenes are based on Goya paintings, lithographs or etchings. Francisco Rabal fills the screen as the 82-year-old Goya, his scarred, bulbous face endlessly expressive of a life filled with pain, delight and imagination.
