The movie relies on shock and a lot of jump scares from the first movie. The "protagonists" were loud, irritating and a bunch of frat-idiots. They had no redeeming qualities and I felt nothing when they were killed off. Sean Rogerson though was amazing, he truly showed an unhinged man who had abandoned everything. Avoid this, just go watch the first film again instead. See more OperationFreeWorld O 09/01/2024 I think some aspects of this film were worse than the first, but I like how they tied in the story and it really made it good for me. People say this one is less "scary" but I disagree. They seem to miss the point of these films. It's not about jump scares and ghouls. It's psychological. The ever-bending reality around anyone who steps foot in this asylum. I think they beautiful expanded on the concept from before; especially that elevator scene!
