Chris Esper Film Threat It’s a film that will likely entertain but could have been a biting satire had it been edited tighter and focused on its core narrative. Thanasis N Riveting, exciting, full of laughs. This movie is the embodiment of college age comedy and I loved every moment of it. Isaiah jimenez was great and the whole movie reminds me of a young Kevin hart special. Surely to become a cult classic. I hope there is a second one coming. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/19/23 Full Review Dennis M Amazingly talented cast! The writing is truly contemporary! Loved it Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Montano P Let me start out by saying that I am not a film critic who writes reviews, I am a filmmaker who makes films, so I will be reviewing "Gray People" from the point of view of a filmmaker. This film is too long for the story that it tells and sometimes lacks focus, but for the most part this film gets more right than it gets wrong and as a comedy film this movie is funny and entertaining. I found myself laughing out load quite a few times throughout. The concept of the film is about a another race of people called gray people who have their own language and basically are the new race on the block. This is where the film really works for me because all the scenes with the gray people are very funny, however when the film strays from the gray people they are greatly missed. The plot follows the two main characters played by Isaiah Jimenez and Casey Starchak who have good chemistry and bounce jokes well off one another as their main focus is to grow up and get jobs. As we follow these 2 protagonists through some very funny comedic scenes involving the gray people we are eventually introduced to the main antagonist of the film played by Dennis Mallen who plays a real sleezeball corporate schmuck, but plays him in a very funny and even likable way at times. Mallen's comedic chops shine here with quick liners delivered with funny intention followed up with great expressions. The introduction to Mallen's character is a funny and memorable one and eventually this character gets to face off face to face with the main characters and it's very funny to watch unfold. Something I didn't expect in this film is a tad of romance when we are introduced to a new gray person character played by Michelle Nunez who is a nice addition who comes in later in the film, but works very well with Isaiah Jimenez. Nunez plays her character in a such an innocent way that you automatically feel for her within seconds of meeting her making her very likable. All acting in this film is pretty solid for the most part thanks to casting and the director Romello Blade who wore many hats during this production including the editing and sound mixer along with being the producer. As a very hands o independent filmmaker myself I know how hard it is to make a film and then how hard it is to finish a film. Technically this film sounds great, all the dialogue is very clear and it's very easy to follow all the story. This film does set up a sequel, so i hope we get more gray people scenes in the future with some funny comedy set ups. All in all, "Gray People" is entertaining comedy that has some charm and heart. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Sandy D I thought it was an innovative new look at the problems of race and prejudice with the gray blending without being preachy about social causes. It was a humorous and entertaining story with an important message and that's what's needed: first Entertain, then enrich, then educate.
