c n m To really appreciate this movie, I think one ought to have either lived through the early 1980s or at least have a good understanding of the sensibilities of that era. At that time, the three main players, Ryan O'Niel, Anne Archer, and Omar Sharif were still within their career primes. In my opinion they were all well cast. The plot line is both interesting and original, if a bit eccentric. It also has elements of Bond (through Maurice Binder's title sequence and the use of state of the art technology for the heist), at the same time remains highly plausible. The plot does not insult one's intelligence. It has a stylish, charming and original quality about it. The iconic cloud hopper sequence with accompanying music by (ex Rolling Stones bassist) Bill Wyman is just beautiful. Definitely worth a watch! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member A good old-fashioned caper. Very enjoyable and happy to have found it available on Amazon. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Lots of beautiful people, scenery and emeralds. Lots of political idealism, social injustice and economic inequality. But not much else after that. A failed con-man suddenly becomes a world class second-story man and burglar? Ryan O'Neil is just horrible, and so is the ending. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Green Ice, otherwise known as Operation: Green Ice, is one of the most boring and uninteresting movies I've come across in a while. The film tells the story of jewel thieves on the run from each other in South America. There's lots of intrigue, car chases, and action, and all of it falls completely flat, at least to me. Ryan O'Neal is uninteresting as the lead, which is the film's main problem right off the bat. He's uncharismatic and lacks the ability to do anything but smirk most of the time. Anne Archer and Omar Sharif are a bit better, and there's also a small part by John Larroquette. The film really goes nowhere fast and fails completely at being anything but a major bore. The only thing I can give credit is the landscapes and the photography, both of which are the most interesting aspects about it. Otherwise, it's abysmal. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review a.l.jude p it a pity that O'Neal's magnificent performance had not been accolade. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member A caper film that's not half bad. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
