Mr. Matthews (Walter Brennan) is a farmer who is constantly being encouraged to update his work practices with newer technology. Staunchly dedicated to the time-honored methods that he knows, Matthews, a widower, raises his family in a similarly old-fashioned manner. Over time, his extremely stubborn ways begin to alienate his children, who are growing up whether he likes it or not. Eventually, he has to learn to loosen up and change with the times or risk pushing his kids away.

It was okay, Walter Brennan and Natalie Wood are great as always. Unique in being probably the only 4H-related movie out there. The picture quality isn't great and parts are kinda cheesy, but worth a watch for those that are into agriculture.

I thought it was going to be about something completely different in the beginning, but I'm glad it wasn't. Natalie wood is always cute and the best actor by far in this movie. The concept of 4H is interesting for the times, though it won't be a favorite among her collection for most fans given her wrist.
