Roger Ebert Chicago Sun-Times The Green Wall is beautiful in so many different ways -- in its story, its photography, in the construction of its images -- that it becomes not simply a movie but an affirmation of life. There is not a false note in it. Rated: 4/4 Oct 23, 2004 Full Review Dennis Schwartz Dennis Schwartz Movie Reviews Made a little splash as a cult film. Audience Member Video: 1/10 The lighting is just awful. Every scene is either extremely underexposed or overexposed. It's almost as if done on purpose how consistently bad it is. The actual camerawork isn't too bad, but many shots are out of focus or poorly framed, so I can't justify a higher score. Plot: 4/10 This is the only upside to the movie. While it's a broken narrative, often intruded by non sequiturs, its at least decent. The main problem is that the characters have no arc. The father cries at the end; that's his full characterization. Everyone else remains completely static. Sound: 0/10 The first talkies had better sound than this film. It was painful to watch because of the sound design. Overall: 1/10 Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member I remember seeing and really liking this movie. I also remember it being incredibly tragic. I would like to see it again. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member the editing and cinematography is so beautiful that compliments the complexity, yet simplicity of family that loves each other and the tragedy that unfolds around a politically unstable country between the rural and urban parts of the country. worth seeing if you are interested in Latin America. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Extremely boring. Do not bother watching, absolute waste of time. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member Perhaps the most surprising film you'll ever see. Incredibly moving and powerful.
