brent m Destined to be a cult classic, this off-the-wall metaphorical comedy takes viewers in unexpected directions from start to finish. Despite occasional editing/pacing issues, a tendency toward being episodic, and some overly silly or underdeveloped bits that don't land as well as they could, this debut feature from Jocelyn DeBoer and Dawn Luebbe otherwise serves up an array of insightful, wickedly funny, truly outrageous laughs about life in suburbia and the false promises often associated with it. Be prepared for something weird, and you'll be rewarded. Look for its general release coming this fall. Unfortunately, for me, I did not find one single laugh or chuckle during the entire flick. Nada, zip, zilch. It's weird as hell, but really dumb in parts. Many audience members at the CIFF loved it, but it dragged for me. Then again, I hated Napoleon Dynamite when I first saw that and love it now. Maybe I'll give it another chance, but alas I can't recommend it. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Read all reviews
