Joe Leydon Variety Brutally and divertingly efficient as an old-school, high-body-count shoot-'em-up. Oct 7, 2015 Full Review Courtney Small Cinema Axis It is happy to simply be a crowd-pleasing action thrill ride that is far more entertaining than it should probably be. Jan 2, 2019 Full Review Brian Orndorf Blu-ray.com A fairly generic offering of action cinema, never developing conflicts to satisfaction, preferring gunfire to suspense, but it does periodically distract. ambyambyamby One of the worst movies i've seen in a bit.. just bad overall. Casting, acting, plot, nothing was good about this movie. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/15/24 Full Review Laurie S Just a moot point. There is no way the antagonists would be able to send gas through a gap in the blast door. Blast doors are called that so nothing can get past. There would not be a gap at the bottom. It was an okay film. It killed (pun) a bit of time. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 09/26/23 Full Review victor o I got to say there was a plethora of reasons I wanted to see this movie and that lies in the magnificent cast. From the hard-hitting Dominic Purcell, Stephen Lang, Danny Glover, and Trish Stratus, I expected nothing less than a slobber knocker of an action movie and that is what I got. David Hendrix is an excellent New York Police detective, but a prior incident in which he was the lone survivor has left him under the care of therapists that don't feel he has recovered from his experience. So, he continues to endure as a beat cop dealing with low-level criminals, but it gets worse as he chaperones Brody Walker, an actor being forced to ride along for a transgression made while drunk and stupid, and with his career on the line must commit to community service. All this as the city prepares for a foreign summit and most police units are sent away as a robbery is set to be performed by a group of mercenaries and rogue cops on a police armory harboring a secret stash of seized evidence. Hendrix and the washed-up celebrity are besieged while getting to know the armory's duty officers as they endure bullets, bombs, smoke, and fire to hold out the night for help. This was pretty fun, a simple action thriller with some decent surprises. I was more than happy to have seen this. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Good gun fight Usual twist Amateur move by a cop to bring a ride along to a place that is supposed to be highly secured Accurate marksman in drills but missed a lot in actual gun fight What happened? Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Liam D A Throwback to one location action movies with a suitable badass stoic turn by Dominic Purcell (The Gravedancers, The Bag Man) Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/03/22 Full Review christopher c. m This sounds like a great action comedy, too bad it's straight up action. Putting civilians in harm way as community service makes no sense. Plus, I doubt the police have secret evidence lock ups. Evidence lock ups are heavily guarded, not just one guy at a gate. Like I said, if this was an action comedy in the lines of "48hrs" or "Midnight Run" or even "Cop Out", it could have been good. The characters are too stern and never mentions how stupid this situation is. And finally it's way too stupid to be taken seriously but it takes itself too seriously to be a fun watch.
