Stephen Holden New York Times Mr. Jacobs and Mr. Grodsky have an extraordinary ear for the rhythms and nuances of everyday speech, as voices overlap, conversations take random directions, and casual remarks carry loaded subtexts. Mar 19, 2015 Full Review Eddie Goldberger New York Daily News "Growing Up and Other Lies" tells you right in the title it's not going to take maturing seriously, so it's not a surprise that the movie is unfocused and ineffective. Rated: 2/5 Mar 19, 2015 Full Review Mike D'Angelo AV Club Cenac gives the most entertaining performance, but at the expense of making Gunderson so irredeemably obnoxious that it's impossible to believe he'd have any friends. Rated: C Mar 19, 2015 Full Review John Noonan FILMINK (Australia) This is a very by the numbers film that, like its leads, seems to wander aimlessly under the pretence of getting somewhere. Sep 16, 2015 Full Review S. Jhoanna Robledo Common Sense Media Clever set up, but mature friendship comedy is formulaic. Rated: 2/5 Mar 27, 2015 Full Review Kam Williams Baret News Who wants to watch four, obnoxious, testosterone-fueled slackers vent their vile along a gauntlet of unsuspecting victims? Daniel H OMG. The morons involved with this should be collected up and put in a concentration camp where they learn fundamentally why people want to watch a movie. The first being we want to watch some fun characters; and not hate absolutely everyone on screen and absolutely everything they say. (based on 10 minutes viewing time). Avoid at all cost. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/03/24 Full Review bruno b Reviews are tearing it apart, but I liked it man. It is an intelligent comedy with good insights. Not brilliant, but good to watch in a rainnig afternoon Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member i just wasted an hour half watching adam brody hang out with a bunch of dicks. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member good little indy I liked the story here Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Not even half way through this unpolished turd of a movie and I should have given up on it a long time ago, now I'm just sticking it out as an exercise in withstanding terribleness. This movie is a big LED billboard of everything is terrible about the generation of participation trophy winners - terrible dialog meets terrible acting meets unoriginal script. It wants to be Clerks but it's nothing, it makes me pray that I will never have to see this cast again. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member Loose & disjointed between scenes, looks like a sit-com instead. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Read all reviews
