What would it be like to step into the skin of a pig and live a day on a farm? With this thought in mind, the legendary documentary filmmaker Viktor Kosakovskiy made his nature film Gunda, in which we are placed in the animal world through intimate black-and-white images. The design is meticulous and everything looks as if it belongs to the period, but we are left waiting for something, anything new. Why do a '70s style film with actors whose body language belongs to the here and now? Go to Full Review

This film would be dead on arrival without the energy of the male leads - even when they are hamming, and they ham often, they are doing it with glorious style. Of the three stars for Gunday, one is for Ranveer and Arjun. Go to Full Review

As a '70s throwback it's definitely not alone in recent years. And yet "Gunday" is a thunderously entertaining movie, which is down to its cast and director. Go to Full Review

Disappointingly, Ranveer [Singh] and Arjun [Kapoor]'s chemistry in Gunday is not a patch on the sparks flying between them in their recent joint TV interviews. Go to Full Review

Gunday fails to fulfill that basic aspect- leaving you mildly enraged with the hope of what could have been, especially given the inexhaustible resources at hand. Go to Full Review

The movie has enough ludicrous action scenes and fun musical numbers that were admittedly pretty fun. This movie received a lot of backlash for an incorrect portrayal of history, but I didn't personally let this affect me, and I tried to watch it as a movie. As a movie, it is pretty messy at times, as the story has way to much going on and doesn't always make a lot of sense. I also think the actors do as good as they can considering how cheesy the dialogue is. I can't say this is a great movie nor is it art, but if you just want to watch something brainless for a couple hours, I think you can do a lot worse.
