C Bradford G @CBGorby Feb 5 Admittedly I just watched this for Maria Paris (she's always a joy!) and was pleasantly surprised to find Olivier Gruner also. Nevsky gets overshadowed by everyone else but he was fun as the "unassuming 7 ft tall merchant with extraordinary combat training" - who duh thunk it? The set dressing was great and the scenic work was effective, especially liked the costuming. It was no Silverado or Tombstone but the dialogue and set up was honest enough to make this film a fun western to knock the tumbleweeds out of your noggin. I understand that these viewers are the authors of this film themselves. At the same time, this film was released directly to DVD discs, since no one will watch this in cinemas. I will watch the movie first chance. As an American, i gotta say,"i appreciate the idea of foreigners paying any kind of tribute to American History". As for the Harsh Critics", It's hard enough for an American production, to make a good History themed film, let along people of other countries. Unless they're "Tarantino", "Spielberg" etc. I think it's best toning the Expert Criticism down a bit. Haha. I really like, Russian themed films.
