Sam was raised by The Firm, the ruthless crime syndicate her mother worked for. Now, 15 years later, Sam has followed in her mother’s footsteps and grown into a fierce hit-woman. She uses her “talents” to clean up The Firm’s most dangerous messes. She’s as efficient as she is loyal. But when a high-risk job goes wrong, Sam must choose between serving The Firm and protecting the life of an innocent 8-year-old girl -- Emily (Chloe Colemaan). With a target on her back, Sam has only one chance to survive: Reunite with her mother and her lethal associates: The Librarians (Angela Bassett, Michelle Yeoh and Carla Gugino). These three generations of women must now learn to trust each other, stand up to The Firm and their army of henchmen, and raise hell against those who could take everything from them. Critics Consensus

Though it runs dangerously close to being a pure sugar rush with no substance, Gunpowder Milkshake is a brutal blast that will absorb audiences into its neon-infused universe.

      Audience Consensus

Gunpowder Milkshake has some decent action sequences, but for the most part, this has all been done before -- and better.

Pongo K The movie tries to be more sophisticated than what it is. A lot of blablabla. Thin plot. Stupid caracters. There are many better movies to see. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/24/24 Full Review Bucky R Unwatchable. A dumb movie for dumb people. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/08/24 Full Review David S This was surprisingly good for me.. had a Wick feel about it, I really enjoyed it 👍 Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/05/24 Full Review T John Wick without the penises. Also without the forethought, story, fight choreography, atmosphere, writers, budget, direction, gun play, score, acting, set design, stunts, effects, or any pretense of realism or storytelling. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/18/24 Full Review Eric S Sorry, but it just didn't work for me. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 11/19/23 Full Review Hal G On par with her other performances, Karen Gilan phones it in. The supporting cast carries this movie, and they do a pretty good job. Gilan's complete lack of any emotion feels less "hardened assassin" and more "high school theater class kid trying to act tough". The lack of any facial expression besides "constipated" certainly doesn't help. Carla Gugino's character was the most memorable, and created the strongest emotional connection. Not a good thing considering she's not the star of the movie. Some of the visuals are striking, and the overall set design is interesting to look at. Use this one as background noise while you're doing other tasks. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 10/24/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Charlotte O'Sullivan London Evening Standard In a landscape that remains dominated by the likes of Zen knucklehead John Wick, Sam and her gruesome gang are alright with me. Aug 22, 2023 Full Review Zach Pope Zach Pope Reviews The film is not just one of the best ACTION FILMS of 2021, but just flat out one of the most entertaining. It’s fantastic tone, vibrancy, blood/guts & of course all of the fantastic ladies here. Karen Gillian owns this film. Jul 26, 2023 Full Review Gissane Sophia Marvelous Geeks Media Gunpowder Milkshake is gorgeous, a whole lot of a fun, and the kind of action-packed female driven film that I hope serves as an example for more like it to follow.
