Linda Marric HeyUGuys Guns Up is solid proof that a familiar story, told with grit and heart, can be enough. It’s an undeniable victory for Kevin James, who proves that he can pull off an action hero. It's entertaining if, admittedly, not too deep. Rated: 3/5 Aug 13, 2025 Full Review Siddhant Adlakha Variety For a film with a name like “Guns Up,” there’s surprisingly little by way of armed shootouts until the final act. For a tale of a family man moonlighting as a mob enforcer, the story and action lack the urgency suggested by its one-last-job premise. Jul 19, 2025 Full Review Peter Sobczynski RogerEbert.com While there are several problems with the film as a whole, perhaps the central one is that there are long stretches where viewers are expected to take the concept at least somewhat seriously, which proves impossible. Rated: .5/4 Jul 18, 2025 Full Review Ezequiel Boetti EscribiendoCine ...[Edward] Drake's film progresses, somewhat stumbling and with some humorous situations that don't quite fit the tone of the film, but also with several good action scenes in which violence and cruelty prevail. [Full review in Spanish] Aug 11, 2025 Full Review Shikhar Verma High on Films Christina Ricci is innocent, but even her turn cannot make this tonally inconsistent mess feel more than some sort of parody served with a straight face. Rated: 1/5 Aug 7, 2025 Full Review Romey Norton Film Focus Online Guns Up won't win any awards for originality, but it succeeds as crowd-pleasing entertainment that respects both its characters and its audience. It's a fun, family-friendly action flick that blends action, drama, and family dynamics. Rated: 4/5 Aug 7, 2025 Full Review Read all reviews

Alex M I hadn't heard about this movie but I saw a blu ray of it in Walmart and bought it,mainly because it stars Christina Ricci, who I love and have actually met in 2020,and I love her movies.I was pleasantly surprised by this because it was entertaining and while not a tremendous movie,it was aan nteresting take on a gangster movie, and actually a dark comedy. The only unrealistic aspect was all the shooting and not one cop shows up. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 08/14/25 Full Review Giorgio G Well, what can I say?! It's not as much comedy as one expects, and there are some long dull stretches (made even worse by the fact that Kevin has never been much of an actor in my opinion), but when there is action it is very good John Wick style action, often rather on the funny side. The best parts are when Christina joins the action and fighting. I had a good time, considering that I had to watch it in the afternoon (really not my movie time) as there is only one cinema in all of São Paulo, with only one session (at 15:45, being rather a kiddie hour, which really does not fit the violence of this flick). Anyway: 6/10 points! Rated 3 out of 5 stars 08/09/25 Full Review James C Just overall a disappointment. Thankfully I didn't pay to see this. It truly was a broken script. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 08/03/25 Full Review ARNEZ C Now this is what I'm talking about Kevin James and Christina Ricci like like borne meets wick It's such a dynamic kick ass I hope there's a sequel I do It may really interesting to see what the entire family involved now This might be one of the best action movies of the year. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 08/02/25 Full Review Mike K Wowee! Great fun and well made. Story, editing, acting all 4 star. "There is no normal" 😜 Post edit : Just read the paid pro reviews. To all those USELESS $&#&@#…How the heck do you get paid for writing that negative crap????!!. Having studied film and seriously considered this media the greatest art form, (reason being, it takes a team to produce it), and having a love affair with it for 70 years, it is easy to call you pompous idiots and REALLY mean it. Media must be judged by not only content, but context. You don't critique a good Toyota the same way you would a Rolls-Royce. Both are great. Toooooo much rant... those crap critics make things a bit CRAZY! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 08/02/25 Full Review Yvette Z Super fun family action film with great performances from the entire cast. Kevin and Ricci have great chemistry! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 08/01/25 Full Review Read all reviews
