Linda Marric HeyUGuys Guns Up is solid proof that a familiar story, told with grit and heart, can be enough. It’s an undeniable victory for Kevin James, who proves that he can pull off an action hero. It's entertaining if, admittedly, not too deep. Rated: 3/5 Aug 13, 2025 Full Review Siddhant Adlakha Variety For a film with a name like “Guns Up,” there’s surprisingly little by way of armed shootouts until the final act. For a tale of a family man moonlighting as a mob enforcer, the story and action lack the urgency suggested by its one-last-job premise. Jul 19, 2025 Full Review Peter Sobczynski RogerEbert.com While there are several problems with the film as a whole, perhaps the central one is that there are long stretches where viewers are expected to take the concept at least somewhat seriously, which proves impossible. Rated: .5/4 Jul 18, 2025 Full Review Daniel Eagan Film Legacy Slight but adequate addition to what is becoming an overcrowded genre. Sep 8, 2025 Full Review Laura Potier Outtake Mag At just over 90 minutes, Guns Up still manages to drag, never committing to either heartfelt family drama or pulpy, over-the-top violence. Rated: 2/5 Sep 1, 2025 Full Review Lapacazo Magrira Sandoval New York Amsterdam News Is it perfect? No. Some jokes miss. Some action sequences feel too choreographed, too clean for the stakes they’re meant to carry. But what lingers is the film’s heart. Aug 25, 2025 Full Review Read all reviews

Kashgar A Lots of fun. Snappy little film. Would even watch again Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/30/25 Full Review Kenneth K Good action. Funny. Worth the watch. But come on. A 20 minute machine gun fight and fires in the street and the police never come? Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 09/27/25 Full Review Frans B Was nice to watch. Always a Kevin James fan and this proves his versatility and acting prowess. Whole cast really shines in character. Great story, albeit along familiar lines and nicely brought to screen by Edward Drake. Great cinematography and good action scenes. Enough twists, action and suspense to keep you entertained Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 09/09/25 Full Review Audience Member MANCHMAL PASSIERT LÖWENSCHEIßE Ray möchte mit seiner Frau Alice sowie den Kindern ein eigenes Diner eröffnen. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 09/08/25 Full Review Mark B Look, Kevin James is saddled with a lot of negative Paul Blart/Grown-Ups baggage, and that's just the way it is. He's made a LOT of just plain stupid movies. But after watching a trailer for this (which like many trailers these days gives too much away) I decided to give it a shot. It's a fun watch that doesn't take up too much of your time. It's very much in the vein of Nobody (which itself draws heavily on John Wick), with a decent balance of comedy and action. James keeps his usual shtick in check, but the real draw here is Christina Ricci. Hope to see her do more like this. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 09/07/25 Full Review Audience Member So sick I can't get out of bed and my wife thought it'd be funny to put this on and leave... I'm considering divorce.
