Brian Gibson Vue Weekly (Edmonton, Alberta) Feeble farce about sordid blood-ties and odd-couple sex. The dialogue's neither sly nor wry. Nearly every brushstroke at humour splatters into cartoonishness. There's no real darkness to the comedy, just some dingy, superficial trappings of darkness. Dec 1, 2010 Full Review Read all reviews

Claudio C Haarautuvan rakkauden talo / The House of Branching Love (2009) Different Finnish Comedy (12,084– 24 Nov 2025 – by Claudio Carvalho) The family advisor Juhani Helin (Hannu-Pekka Björkman) and the counselor Tuula Helin (Elina Knihtilä) have been married for ten years but now are divorcing. Meanwhile, the prostitute Natalia (Ulla Hämeenaho) is drunken and smoking a cigarette sit on the window. Out of the blue, she falls off the window, and her friend Nina (Anna Easteden) flees. Natalia was staked out by two detectives and by the Estonian mobsters since she has a large amount from the mafia. The mafia boss Yrsa (Kati Outinen) calls the pimp Wolffi (Antti Reini) to find Nina and the money. During this time, Tuula brings her lover Marco (Ilkka Villi) to provoke Juhani, who seeks out his brother Wolffi to hire the gorgeous prostitute Nina to make Tuula jealous. Soon the lives of the characters are entwined in a chaotic situation and romances. "Haarautuvan rakkauden talo", a.k.a. "The House of Branching Love" (2009), is a different Finnish comedy based on the elevated rate of divorces in this country. Western users normally watch American. French, Italian and Brazilian comedies that have a totally different style. The plot is complex and funny with the characters having entwined relationship disclosed along the story. My vote is seven. Title (Brazil): "O Ciúme Mora ao Lado" ("The Jealousy Lives Next Door") My Blog: https://maniacosporfilme.wordpress.com/ Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 11/26/25 Full Review Audience Member Leffalla oli kyllä hyvät hetkensä, mutta loppua kohden elokuvan tarina muuttuikin sekavammaksi ja epäuskottavammaksi... Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Very nice comedy about "it's complicated" type of relationships. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member OK, ish. Had the makings of a good farce, but the situations seemed too contrived and unnatural. Also, the director tried to be too wacky. A more natural, yet funny, movie would have worked well. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member Ã"timo filme... A guerra entre o casal extrapola qualquer previsão de atà (C) onde eles podem chegar Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member This is probably as good as a farcical sex comedy can get, in other words not very good, but still not completely pointless or dumb. In this Mika Kaurismäki offering a big cast of characters all gravitate towards a divorcing couple, and hilarity ensues as one fateful night filled with improbable coincidences unravels a web of secrets. The cast makes the best of what theyâ(TM)ve got, and some truly wonderful performances- both comical and dramatic- keep this boat from sinking.
