Thomas S Most horrific cartoon I ever watched. Gripping Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 12/09/24 Full Review Saint An effective anti-war movie is all about a well-executed humanizing perspective, and this was excellent. The haunting, unforgettable moments that show the horrors of the bomb aftermaths, paired with the main character's naïveté, and his unsettlingly light and delayed responses to gruesome situations feel.. realistic. That's why this work did an incredible job in portraying the horror of being a child that comes from a humble loving family, who happen to be a victim of massively destructive decisions made by unforgivable political powerhouses fueled by greed—it results in generations worth of pain. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/27/23 Full Review Audience Member One of the few films to ever nearly bring me to tears. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member The mundane,(yet riddled with strife), family life in Hiroshima's contrast to the immediate impact of the atomic bomb is one of the most emotionally distraught and intense moments in animation. Barefoot Gen is overwhelming in the emotion it invokes and conveys a powerful stoic message of pressing on. A memorable experience that no anime afficianado should do without. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member A thoroughly horrific, heartbreaking and enveloping experience from start to finish, from setup and build, to climax and aftermath. The establishing of the core family is beautifully engaging and all the more gut-wrenching when the inevitable happens. The uses of sound, colour, conflicting illustration styles, all with a continually compelling episodic narrative, truly paints a beautifully complex and wholly human tragedy, spelling in no uncertain terms a protest against war and the governmental tirades of self-concerned and proud lawmen. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review júlio a Nossa.....tem alguns tropeços, mas no geral é uma história pesada demais mas altamente necessária..de doer a alma.
