Audience Member Halik sa Hangin is a romance-horror thriller that deals with psychological and supernatural themes. Mia Generoso is recovering from the recent death of her father is taken back by her mother and his new family in Baguio to continue recovering. There she meets and befriends Alvin Paredes who loves her for a long-time but when she accidentally meets Gio Brauner, she was smitten to him and drawn to him more as she goes on an emotional ride of family issues, pain and hurt. But how she will prove to her family of Gio's existence when he is revealed to be dead already and everyone around Mia thinks she is a mental patient now. I find the story as a fresh take on romance films with supernatural themes since there are only few Filipino movies produced like this one. The story may be drowning in dialogues and appears to be dragging but its strength was its intriguing premise, psychological issues and bad spirit involvement in it. But I admit the story could have been better or rewrite it convey a more impactful story. Baguio was used as an effective picturesque backdrop for the film. It gave the film beautiful visuals of both romance and horror. When it comes to performance, Julia Montes and Gerald Anderson have on-screen chemistry and gave compelling portrayals of their characters as well as JC de Vera who completes the love triangle theme. The three delivered a decent act along with supporting casts like Ina Raymundo and Edu Manzano. Halik sa Hangin is a good and decent film though it could have been a better romance with horror story if its potentials were deepened then push it thru to the movie. The movie has a beautiful music soundtrack by Ebe Dancel and Abra of the same title. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Read all reviews
