Danny Leigh Financial Times A film that resembles the American Pie franchise as reimagined by conceptual artist Matthew Barney. Rated: 4/5 Jan 6, 2021 Full Review Peter Bradshaw Guardian Very individual work, as creepy as a ghost story. Rated: 4/5 Jan 6, 2021 Full Review Ryan Lattanzio indieWire "Ham on Rye" exists behind glass, but it isn't cutely coy. There's something angry about it and hard to parse. Rated: B Nov 6, 2020 Full Review William Stottor Loud and Clear Reviews Ham on Rye takes a genre as old as time and adds a new and unique direction to it, marking director Tyler Taormina as one to watch. Rated: 3.5/5 Jul 11, 2024 Full Review Morris Yang In Review Online [For] Ham on Rye ... narrative is deliberately sidelined from the get-go, abstracted in order to focus on an adolescent milieu at once brazenly generic and poignantly specific. Jun 5, 2021 Full Review Shikhar Verma High on Films Seamlessly weaving a satire on intergenerational high school comedies and suburban rules, Taormina's film is about one fateful day in the life of teenagers in a small community. Mark D Wait! What? I just knew the Rotten Tomato critics would rate this close to 100%! It's just a series of pointless and disconnected vignettes. The film goes nowhere, but not in a hurry. It's so slow paced it makes you want to scream! Nothing to see here! Watch it only if you have an hour and a half to kill. A bit like watching paint dry. Although I suspect that would be more interesting than watching this film to its conclusion. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 09/08/23 Full Review Nelson Ivn A The worst movie I've ever seen in my life, and I'm not even joking. It may have merit because the look and feel are well achieved, but the story is slooooooow. There were indeed better ways to portray this coming-of-age message. It's funny how the "Top Critics" jumped through hoops and did amazing somersaults to rate this movie positively. Just look at the words they used and how they used them. They picked one specific film trait and embellished it with boogie words and extensive descriptions. Don't waste your time. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/25/22 Full Review dave d A mostly dialogue-free bore that could have been made by just about any film student and virtually nobody would notice. This is junk disguised as art. At 85 minutes, if felt like 4 hours!! A colossal slog with zero payoff. I haven't seen a movie this bad in a VERY long time! Final Score: 0/10 Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member What is this crazy movie. It's unlike anything I've seen before in the best way Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Read all reviews
