Despite their religious and cultural differences, Jewish farmer Gedalia Birmann (Shlomo Tarshish) has always had a fine working relationship with his young Arab employee, Khaled (Yasein Shawaf). An Arab neighbor owns Gedalia's land, though, and when word runs through the village that the Israeli government is preparing to lay claim to the land, changing the established status quo, it serves to spark the longstanding tensions between the local Jewish and Arabic populations.
