LAURA M I really enjoyed this movie, don't believe all the negative reviews.... yes some acting was a bit 'wooden'. But there was some intense scenes, good story line. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/08/24 Full Review Jamie K I thought it was cool. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 08/11/23 Full Review Jill C This movie is so ridiculous it is laughable. Why would Al Pacino even consider it? Rated 1 out of 5 stars 05/01/23 Full Review A D The film is just a cliche. Nothing but a cliche. And Al Pacino is definitely worn out. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/20/22 Full Review Jacqueline D I have never left a review here before but watching 'The Hangman' has moved me to the extent that I felt compelled to do so. There was a germ of an interesting story here, and the atmosphere was effective, but beyond that it was utter nonsense. Karl Urban was wasted but did the best he could with the ridiculous script and Al Pacino seemed to be in a parallel reality altogether. No one made the slightest effort to solve the hangman's puzzle and when we did find out what the word was it was ridiculous, and when they did pick up on 'clues' it seemed to make no sense at all. For example, from Al Pacino, "When I want to cool my beer cans I wrap them in a wet towel...he wants us to dredge the river!" And why was the pathologist so permanently terrified!? Not even bad enough to be funny. Avoid. We watched the Harry Hill Movie afterwards; it was more convincing and the acting was better. The end. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 10/24/22 Full Review Shioka O I watched and just time passed. Don't remember anything. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 09/26/22 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Brian Tallerico RogerEbert.com A cheapo Seven knock-off that one would be tempted to suggest is beneath the talents of everyone involved, but they knew what they were getting into when they read it. Rated: 1/4 Dec 22, 2017 Full Review Richard Roeper Chicago Sun-Times In its own cheesy and entertaining way, Hangman kept me guessing throughout. Rated: 3/4 Dec 22, 2017 Full Review Michael Rechtshaffen Los Angeles Times With a dirge-like pace that provides ample opportunity to figure it all out well ahead of the protagonists, you keep wishing somebody would buy a vowel to hurry things along. Dec 21, 2017 Full Review Steven Prokopy Third Coast Review Lord save me from screenwriters who don't know how to end their movies with dignity. May 21, 2020 Full Review Sarah Cartland Caution Spoilers Watch in the right frame of mind and "Hangman" is occasionally diverting; you may well enjoy spotting the cliches and tropes. But the story is hackneyed and the final twist one that will make you sigh rather than scream. Rated: 2/5 Jan 19, 2019 Full Review Tom Santilli AXS.com ...the script...gives these actors very little to work with and makes this film laughably cheesy and cliched at times.
