Bruce McCabe Boston Globe "Hanky Panky" is a witless, uneven, occasionally tasteless suspense comedy... Apr 27, 2018 Full Review Eddie Harrison film-authority.com ...the first half of Hanky Panky is a decent showcase for Wilder at a high level of manic- ness, contrasted by a workday thriller scenario involving missing tapes, secret agents, and an ‘in the wrong movie’ 50’s hood in the shape of Richard Widmark Rated: 3/5 Jan 23, 2024 Full Review Peter Stack San Francisco Examiner It's a mad chase film involving spies and cops and government agents, and the insubstantial plot is pleasingly buoyed up by lots of fast action. George G This film should have been entertaining, it has comedy and mystery and basically some form of suspense, however the film kinda doesn’t really connect with me all that much. It has some entertaining aspects like our main character Micheal who has been dragged into a life against his will, leading to adventure. It was funny in some aspects, thrills of action one could easily be entertained. I guess the main issue is that film doesn't really have any flare, I consider it a safe standard film that kinda dips a little bit throughout the film. The team up with Kate was good and all that, but I feel this feel is kinda nothing movie, I mean it's not really all that interesting for being a thriller. I would not mind watching this film, however it wasn’t even that memorable. I will likely forget about this film if I'm not reminded. This film gets a 3.3/5 stars. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 12/01/25 Full Review Cailei P Pretty cool movie. Worth a watch Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/25/25 Full Review Wylie T Hanky Panky is a lighthearted comedy that mixes mystery and romance in a fun but slightly uneven way. The story follows an ordinary man who gets caught up in a wild adventure after being mistaken for someone else. The film has a lot of charm thanks to its silly humor and fast pace, but the plot can be confusing at times and doesn’t always make sense. Still, the energy and funny moments keep it entertaining. It’s not a deep or serious movie, but if you’re looking for an easy watch with laughs and chaos, Hanky Panky does the job. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 10/21/25 Full Review thiago s Filme fraco, o roteiro é fraco, as cenas são fracas, a história é fraca, o elenco é fraco, e ninguém ajuda a melhorar o filme, os personagens são fracos, e o filme deveria ter cenas bem melhores e relevantes, para fazer o filme ser bom Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 06/15/25 Full Review Alex N I really wanted to like Hanky Panky, but honestly, it just didn’t work for me. The film was made to be an action comedy, however, the movie can’t decide if it’s a comedy, a thriller, or a romance, and the mix ends up feeling messy and confusing. Wilder is always fun to watch, and Radner has her moments, but even their chemistry isn’t enough to save it. The plot drags, the jokes fall flat, and the story never fully clicks. There were a few scenes that made me smile, but overall it felt more frustrating than entertaining. I’d only recommend it if you’re a big fan of the cast otherwise, there are much better films out there from both of them. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 05/19/25 Full Review Audience Member Gene Wilder’s an architect mistaken for a spy, stumbling into a convoluted plot with Gilda Radner as his quirky sidekick. The slapstick gags, like Wilder dodging assassins in a goofy chase, are pure ‘80s cheese, and the chemistry between him and Radner is gold. It’s got that zany energy of Blazing Saddles but with espionage vibes. As a student, I dig its carefree silliness, but it’s messy and dated, so it might not click for everyone.
