Audience Member I love Gene Wilder and Gilda Radner. I hadn't seen this movie before until today but am lovin it. May 23, 2021. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Un capolavoro della comicità sobria. Ironia e sarcasmo di stile e classe. Gene Wilder ha sempre saputo far ridere e intrattenere con intelligenza, senza volgarità e senza mai essere banale. Da vedere Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Audience Member Wacky, confusing, and funny. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member not really an action comedy, as there's no real laughs - a few moments that make you smile, but that's about it. Wilder's OK, but plays it straight for most of the time. The plot is a simple 'innocent man caught in a conspiracy' tale, although it takes a very long time to learn what's on the tape and why people are dying. Pretty unmemorable. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review simon d It's a shame to see genuinely funny actors like Gene Wilder sell out by doing a film which isn't at all funny, or interesting. Why on earth was this called Hanky Panky, by the way. Look at the cover and tell me that this has anything to do with the film. This is a poor story sold by suggestive marketing and a big name comedian. I can imagine that a lot of people will have felt robbed after seeing this. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member I don't get how Gene Wilder was ever a thing. He's shrill, neurotic, and unfunny. This is the best of the three movies he made with the adorable Gilda Radner, which isn't really saying much. She doesn't even show up for the first half hour, but the part does give her a little more to do than her other roles. Unfortunately, Sidney Poitier directs it in the style of a sub-par 70's TV show. Hanky Panky makes the (somewhat similar) Outrageous Fortune look like Citizen Kane. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Bruce McCabe Boston Globe "Hanky Panky" is a witless, uneven, occasionally tasteless suspense comedy... Apr 27, 2018 Full Review Eddie Harrison film-authority.com ...the first half of Hanky Panky is a decent showcase for Wilder at a high level of manic- ness, contrasted by a workday thriller scenario involving missing tapes, secret agents, and an ‘in the wrong movie’ 50’s hood in the shape of Richard Widmark Rated: 3/5 Jan 23, 2024 Full Review Peter Stack San Francisco Examiner It's a mad chase film involving spies and cops and government agents, and the insubstantial plot is pleasingly buoyed up by lots of fast action.
