Hannah Einbinder takes the stage at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles for her first stand-up special. Holding a rapt audience in the palm of her hand, Einbinder debuts a variety of characters including the sun, moon, and earth and shares hilariously, formative stories from throughout her life including the lengths her parents went to for a son (only to have her instead), her failed attempts at meditation, and the divine intervention experienced at her grandmother’s funeral. The comedian also gets candid about being queer, her faith, climate change, and her stoner roots in this unpredictable and highly funny debut comedy hour.

Craig Mathieson The Age (Australia) Einbinder is not so much an unreliable narrator as one prone to change your perspective mid-riff. Her self-deprecation comes with deceptively sharp edges, and they’re accentuated by her expressively physical performance. Jun 20, 2024 Full Review Tara Ariano Cracked Everything Must Go can be off-putting. We don’t understand why these aesthetic choices were made, and though her stories are candid, her affectations keep her from seeming particularly vulnerable in telling them. Aug 28, 2024 Full Review Clare Martin Paste Magazine Einbinder’s silly self-seriousness is the glue that holds the special together. Her impressions are plentiful and hilarious, as are the facial expressions she deploys to sell a punchline. Rated: 8/10 Jun 21, 2024 Full Review Sean L. McCarthy Decider Einbinder? D L Many parts are brilliant, with a few exceptions Rated 4 out of 5 stars 05/31/25 Full Review M P I sort of stumbled on this, and watched with no expectations. This seemed somewhere between a standup set and a performance piece. Overall very clever... some sections really funny, some reflective, a Few hmmmm. It wasn't a joke every 20 seconds like Nikki Glazer, but a really good performance. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 05/31/25 Full Review Evelyn O I was really looking forward to this special because Hannah is so great in Hacks, but Everything Must Go was really not fun. It was almost like the whole time she was gazing into a mirror trying to look and sound cool. I fast-forwarded a few times, hoping it would get better but no. No real comedy or personal vulnerability anywhere. I am still a real fan of her comedy and acting work in Hacks--just feel like she can do a lot better on her own if she'll just get out of her own way. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 05/28/25 Full Review Laura L I love Hannah but this was such a boring comedy standup show. I thought this was a comedy show and not a one-woman dramatic performance. Boring. Disappointed. Sorry, Hannah. You can do better. Just be fun - at least in this climate of "life sucks." We need your humorous observations not your self-reflection. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 05/19/25 Full Review Danielle B I think I would have enjoyed this more if I knew it was more a one-woman-show than a true stand-up act. I felt myself wanting to get to see more of her humanity because of that, wanted her to loosen up a bit and be more conversational, but I don't know if that's what she was going for. This show felt better suited for a black box stage than a comic special. I love Hannah in Hacks. She's new on the scene, definitely talented, and is already challenging herself to break the formula here, even if it didn't entirely hit the mark. I sense she's finding her voice as an artist and this is a stepping stone in that journey. Good for her xx Rated 3 out of 5 stars 04/28/25 Full Review matthias s **Hannah Einbinder: Everything Must Go – 2.5 Stars** Got this one recommended to me, so I went in curious—always fun to check out new comedians. But honestly? This felt less like a stand-up special and more like an extended acting exercise with a side of activism. Climate change, feminism, understanding women—it’s all important stuff, but when half the set feels like a TED Talk, it’s hard to stay engaged. That being said, Einbinder *is* talented. You can tell she’s a much stronger actress than a stand-up comic at this stage, but there’s definitely potential. A few jokes landed, a few chuckles here and there, but nothing that really stuck with me. It felt like she was testing the waters more than delivering a polished hour. She could be big in a few years if she leans into her strengths, but for now, it just wasn’t my thing. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/21/25 Full Review Read all reviews
