Mary Elizabeth Williams Salon.com Gadsby is no everywoman, her worldview is entirely her own. That's why she stands out, at once fiercely and quietly, like a tiny, perfect lion. Jun 5, 2020 Full Review Michael Idato Sydney Morning Herald This is an uneasy dance between artist and audience. It's challenging. It is funny, and truly hilarious at times. But it's also going to kick you in the guts when you least expect it May 29, 2020 Full Review Jason Zinoman New York Times "Douglas" is a surprisingly slick, joke-dense show, running hot then cold and even chilly, periodically pausing to meditate on its changing temperature. May 28, 2020 Full Review Michael Cuby them. From its first moments, Gadsby makes it clear that she’s a comedian who knows enough about the art of stand-up to continuously flip it on its head, again and again. Oct 3, 2022 Full Review Daisy Leigh-Phippard Screen Queens So how can a show that touches on all this darkness make your belly hurt from laughing? Its because acknowledging the bad things and saying the jokes next to each other admit that both can coexist. Feb 21, 2022 Full Review Elle Hunt NME (New Musical Express) A funny yet frustrating encore...after vowing to quit stand-up forever in her breakthrough show, Hannah Gadsby returns on playful and defensive form. Katie D Her story about her teacher and the box/penguin made me laugh so hard I cried the first time I watched it. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 08/21/23 Full Review David F This funny special has some of the meta scaffolding and trendy postmodernism of ‘Nanette'. It's also really funny. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 05/18/23 Full Review Song M She needs therapy. Seriously, she needs therapy... The whole show doesn't belong on tv but behind the door of a therapy session. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Alex M Toxic and unfunny. Where were the jokes? Humorless and tasteless. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/18/22 Full Review Audience Member Well, she keeps too be unfunny. No more comments necessary. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review breandan o I had to stay up and watch for work emails so tried this while cleaning. She's not funny but that's true for most comedians from Australia. Her whole shtick is talking about her supposed autism and being LGTB, etc. She overuses profanity and sticks it into places for no good use. I don't mind profanity if used like pepper, sparingly and appropriately. I think her critics score was high thanks to inter-sectional points. It's was like watching your mom's friends try to tell jokes. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 04/07/23 Full Review Read all reviews
