Hannah Gadsby spins her own life story into a clever, raging and confronting spiel against misogyny, homophobia and even the tired old tropes of comedy itself. Go to Full Review

When Gadsby wrenches out her pain on stage, she reveals her strength, rage, and yes, winning humor. Go to Full Review
Hannah Strong Little White Lies 09/24/2018
Gadsby is tired of censoring her own pain for the sake of making audiences feel comfortable. Nanette is a testament to this. It's time to make audiences feel uncomfortable in order to wake them up. Go to Full Review

5/5
The Netflix "comedy special" Nanette is a televised version of Hannah Gadsby's award-winning "stand up" stage show from 2017. It is so eye-opening, personal and encouraging that it feels unfair to squeeze it into a nutshell. Go to Full Review
Angela L. Harmon The NitPic 12/11/2019
Gadsby realized that turning her pain into comedy actually forced her to create a specific narrative of her own life that she repeated night after night until it became her reality. Go to Full Review

Cameron O @Camdaman May 17 Not a comedy. Not funny and more a lecture. See more Allison D May 10 Enjoyed the bold twist in her stand up that, yes, made me tense and uncomfortable at times. Still relevant today unfortunately as we still can't accept how diversity is a strength, and is being brazenly attacked. Bravo Hannah for your courage, and sharing your story. I will say I don't love painting groups of people with a broad brush, men included, how we parse that one I don't know. Very thought provoking. Enjoyed and yes I did laugh. See more Patricia N May 3 I loved this! See, this is why there doesn’t need to have audience reviews when you have such bigotry towards the LGBTQ community giving reviews. It’s very sad to see such a low review towards such a great artist! See more sandy s Feb 8 Couldn’t stop crying for the last few minutes which (of course) never experienced in my life with stand-up comedy shows. And.. why not? 야 여기 와서 별점 테러하는 인생들도 애잔하다 진짜 See more Jan 22 I seriously can't believe anyone reviewed this as 5 stars. If I could give it zero I would. It's like being trapped in a woke Ted talk with the drama teacher from high school who's trying to be "cool" and "hip" and "woke". It's not funny. I found it depressing. See more Ebiere O Jan 12 Absolutely hilarious. She has a depth to her that makes her story telling rich. See more Read all reviews
