I’d much rather see Gadsby’s Netflix family metaphor be brought into the real world, where all of these comedians of different viewpoints and identities actually came together to hear one another.

I wanted to like it. But it was about as cringy as it could possibly get. I think the pool of talent they pulled from must have been insanely shallow because NONE of these people would have gotten screen time on a special under typical circumstances. Most are still at the “gettting heckled at an open mic night” stage. It’s crazy that there are five star reviews on here. I think it’s just that stage in the culture war. People feel like they have to blindly support bad art as long as the creators share their same worldview.
