Anton Bitel Little White Lies More outrageous than funny, the Hanzo trilogy is an unruly mix of bloody violence, soft porn and political intrigue, with a hero whose intentions are (largely) admirable, but whose modus operandi will repel any but the most hardened misogynists. Audience Member By now if you've watched the other 2 Hanzo movies, you should have become used to the format and structure of the stories and that these movies aren't to be taken seriously at all. How can you take any of it serious when the lead character states that all men should have sex with a female ghost once in their life as their bodies will be so cold and their private parts will be tight!!! You'd also think that any person attacking Hanzo's house would be aware from word of mouth that it's booby trapped to the hilt with weapons and it's futile to even attempt attacking it but here we have another troop of men going blindly to their deaths!! This is probably the weakest of the trilogy and it's a rather tame effort when you compare it to the other two. The exploitation stuff is dealt with in the first 10 minutes. The comedy comes thick and fast from the opening with Hanzo furiously bashing his penis on a block of wood as his 2 assistants Devil-Fire and Viper explain to him about the ghost! It makes me wonder how actor Shintaro Katsu managed to keep his face straight when delivering some of his lines, sometimes I thought I could see a kind of a smirk coming across his face as if he's trying hard not to break out laughing! Somehow this movie wasn't as much fun as Sword of Justice and The Snare. It's still good don't get me wrong and it contains an amazing duel as Hanzo takes out a group of 20 men with his sword. All the different plots come together to give a satisfying ending. Overall it's been a superb trilogy and there's a lot of fun to be had in watching all of the movies. I'm sure if there was other movies with Hanzo I would have loved to have seen them but sadly there isn't. Exploitation fans will have a ball with the Hanzo movies. Recommended. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member It saddens me that there's only 3 of these Hanzo movies. I really enjoyed watching this trilogy this week. They should have made 6 of these like Lone Wolf & Cub. Shinataro Katsu is one bad mother-fucker who is continues to deal out his brutal style of justice be it by sword or cock. This even starts off once again w/ him toughening up his member by beating it & fucking that rice satchel. This is probably my least favorite in the series (part 2 being my personal favorite) but I still put it on pair w/ the other 2. This entire series should seriously be sought out of fans of the martial arts; especially the politically incorrect ones. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member Hanzo is one cool dude. He picks up where Zatoichi leaves off. Japanese Cinema was wild back in the 1974 with Samurai. In this movie Hanzo is out to find who has the gold. The movie is completely over the top. If you haven?t tried a Hanzo Movie its time to try, he drives women wild with his torture. See the film and you will see why women faint at the sight of Hanzo Naked. 3 1/2 stars. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member this is great its a cool griping cop dramer but in feudal japan directed like shaft wiv funk sound track egnor the penis tourture its really not that shocking or integral to the story . yet another great movie from maker of the loan wolf and cu and lady snow bloud movies . oww and sexy sexy geisha Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Now that I've seen all of Kazuo Koike's comic in live action I have to say that he was one twisted genius. I can say with all certainty that Hanzo the Razor will not have a remake for some time. Unless Vivid decides to get in on the action. In this one Hanzo chases down a ghost to bang it. Yeah, he's regular ghostbuster. It's still super sexist but funny as hell. One last thumb up the score of these movie. Thumb up! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Read all reviews
