Ann Ross Maclean's Magazine Happiness Ahead is gay and entertaining, and brightly directed by Mervyn LeRoy. Aug 1, 2019 Full Review Helen Brown Norden Vanity Fair Miss Hutchinson is not by any means a regulation screen beauty, but she has a vivacious, mobile little face and charming eyes. Far more important than this, however, is the fact that she is an intelligent and conscientious actress. May 31, 2019 Full Review Read all reviews

ashley h Happiness Ahead is an incredible film. It is about society heiress Joan Bradford who rebels against her mother's choice of a future husband by masquerading as a working class girl and dating a window washer. Josephine Hutchinson and Dick Powell give excellent performances. The screenplay is well written. Mervyn LeRoy did a great job directing this movie. I enjoyed watching this motion picture because of the humor and romance. Happiness Ahead is a must see.
