Audience Member For me, hardly entertaining. Others will probably like this film more. It was not poorly made. I just found this story of an uneducated man in 1940 who marries a widow before accidentally killing a man in an armed robbery a bit dull. When hard times persist, desperate measures earns a one-way ticket to San Quentin when tragedy strikes en route to a holdup. Rightly keeps the focus on relationship of the main characters. Walter Goodman New York Times A true story? Sure. It's true to an ideology-generated fiction that was always false to life and to art. May 21, 2003 Full Review Read all reviews
